Meridian 105 was founded by
Chad Mitchell. Chad comes from one of
the most prominent design firms in the world, Murphy/Jahn Architects, where
among his rich background of project experience is the Shanghai New
International Expo Center in China and the Suvarnabhumi Airport in
Thailand. As a Senior Architect with
Murphy/Jahn he directed the work of several projects earning national AIA
design honors, including the State Street Village student dorms at the campus
of the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. Throughout
his practice, Chad's expertise has lied in the design of custom enclosure systems,
working as a firm specialist in a collaborative process with groups such as
Permasteelisa and Gartner. While practicing at Murphy/Jahn he was a key
designer in the development of some of the first buildings constructed with
twin glazed curtain walls. Additionally, he made industry
strides in the design of custom fabricated metal skins and building screens,
working with fabricators to create new aesthetics in this building material. In
over 13 years of practice, Chad has played a key role in
the development of a variety of landmark projects around the world.
He has
practiced
architecture in multiple capacities developing a broad perspective and
knowledge base from collective experience as a designer, project
manager, and enclosure specialist. His portfolio includes a
body
of in-depth research and built work across a wide range of project
types, including transportation, housing, civic, educational, and
commercial office. Chad's housing portfolio is extensive, having
planned living space across a wide market, from affordable to luxury,
single to multi-family dwelling, student, and hospitality uses.
